Geraldine E. Salata, 91, loving mother and wife of St. Clair died Thursday January 25, 2024, at her home.
Born in Pottsville, July 9, 1932, She was a daughter of the late Luther and Phoebe (Clocker) Johns.
She was a 1950 graduate of St. Clair High School Class and retired from bookkeeping at Mettam Brothers Lumber Company, St. Clair.
Gerri was a member of Holy Apostle’s Episcopal Church, St. Clair where she served on their Vestry committee for many years and was the oldest member in the church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Salata in 2001; brother Luther Johns; 4 sisters Thelma Gerber, Elizabeth Haverty, Lillian Fleagle, and Marion Demko.
Surviving are 4 sons John M. Salata, St.Clair; Martin A. Salata and his companion Debbie Chaklos of St. Clair; Scott M. Salata and his companion Dorothy Hartnett of Pottsville; Glenn D. Salata and his wife Terri of Pottsville; 6 grandchildren;
Joshua , Jon , Allie , Rachael ,Marty ,Mathew Salata, 2 great grandsons, Jude and Jonah, 1 sister Jaqueline Berdanier of Port Carbon ; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:30 PM Tuesday January 30, 2024 from Holy Apostle Episcopal Church on 307 East Hancock Street St. Clair, PA 17970. The Rev. Dr. Kurt Kovalovich will be officiating. Friends may call from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM Tuesday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Apostles Episcopal Church Memorial Fund at the above address.
Nancy L. Phillips, 87, of Shenandoah Heights passed away Thursday morning January 25th at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East.
Born in Northumberland County on May 25, 1936 she was the daughter of Alma Neidlinger.
Nancy graduated from Ashland High School in 1954.
She was the wife of the late L. Olin Phillips who passed away in 1996.
Nancy was of the Protestant faith was a member of the former First United Methodist Church in Shenandoah.
She was last employed by Kmart as clerk, prior to that she worked for the Ashland Daily News.
Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by; brother Leroy Neidlinger; sister in law Eleanor Neidlinger; beloved canine Bella.
Nancy is survived by; daughter Beth Phillips (Guy Anewalt), Lehighton; daughter Arba Phillips (Joseph Cescon), Shenandoah Heights; grandson Kyle Phillips, Harrisburg.
Commital services will be held privately at the family’s request.
