The Shenandoah Dollar General location that was destroyed by fire last year has reopened.
The fire, which obliterated both the structure and its entire inventory at the Gold Star Plaza, left the community without a Dollar General. Despite a thorough investigation following the demolition in August, authorities were unable to pinpoint the exact cause of the destructive fire.
Demolition of the destroyed building began in August last year and by November, new beams were going in place starting a rebuild.
Signs that new location was opening soon were evident over the past couple weeks as product began to arrive.
Last week, the new location opened its doors. While from the outside, the story has a familiar look, the inside has an updated layout.
The store is currently looking to hire and those interested can apply within.
