A Shenandoah woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a vehicle in the borough last month.
According to information released by the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the incident occurred on December 14th, 2023, around 11:00am on West Centre Street near the intersection with South West Street.
Troopers say Maryeve Bauser, 80, of Shenandoah was driving a Chevrolet Equinox and turning right from South West Street to West Centre Street when she struck Eileen Rivera, 67, also of Shenandoah walking across the street in a crosswalk.
Rivera was evaluated at the scene and transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
On December 26th, 2023, State Police charged Bauser with careless driving. She answered to the charge on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024, where she pled guilty.
