Nature enthusiasts and coal region history buffs are in for a treat as Hiker Jim Eisenhart Jr., has planned an exciting hike to explore landmarks near the Ashland area.
The Ashland Walkabout is set to take place on Friday, February 2, starting at 10 am, with participants gathering at the Ashland Train Station located on Third Street.
The focal points of the hike will be Ashland Geyser and the Centralia Mine Fire. Hiker Jim Eisenhart Jr. will lead the group on a six-mile journey.
The hike will begin at the former Ashland Train Station (behind Boyer's Markets) and takes hikers to Big Mine Run to visit the geyser.
