A fire damaged a building at the Gilberton Coal Company on Sunday morning.
Around 10:00am, Sunday, emergency personnel were called the property along Gilberton Road for a report of a structure fire.
Firefighters arrived to find a working fire in a structure used for coal screening.
The fire called in firefighters from Mahanoy City, Ryan Township, Shenandoah, Gilberton, Mahanoy Plane, Frackville, Altamont and Englewood. Also responding were the ambulances from Shenandoah and Mahanoy City along with Mahanoy Township Police.
The fire was brought under control within a half hour, but firefighters remained on scene cleaning up hot spots.
Most of the fire units had cleared the scene within 90 minutes of dispatch.
No word on a cause of the fire.
