The Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven have charged two people with the theft of over $2,500 in items from a property in Wayne Township.
According to Troopers, on January 31, 2024, Kenneth Hengen, 34, of New Ringgold, and Ashley Shellhamer, 36, of Schuylkill Haven entered the Pennsy Supply property on Fair Road. The pair allegedly removed items totaling $2,656.99.
Both were taken into custody that day approximately 1/4 mile from the scene.
Hengen was charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, false identification to law enforcement, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge David Plachko and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $50,000 straight cash bail.
Shellhammer was charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was also arraigned before Judge Plachko who set bail at $25,000(10%). She spent one night in Schuylkill County Prison before posting bail and was released on February 1st, 2024.
Both are scheduled to appear before Judge Plachko on February 6th, 2024 for a preliminary hearing.
