The limited-release beer has been reintroduced to the market in select states across the Eastern United States including Pennsylvania.
The brewery says, inspired by the brewery's German roots, Yuengling Bock pays homage to centuries of brewing tradition. Drawing from the archives, the brewery has crafted a label and package design reminiscent of its 1940s-era Bock labels.
Jennifer Yuengling, a sixth-generation family member of D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc., expressed enthusiasm for the return of the historic brew, stating, "Bock beer is a nod to our rich German heritage. This rich, malty beer started gaining popularity and is now enjoyed broadly across the globe, especially during cooler months."
Originally introduced as a draft-only offering in 2008, Yuengling Bock quickly garnered acclaim from beer enthusiasts. Following its success, the brew made another appearance in draft and packaging formats in 2009, coinciding with Yuengling's 180th anniversary celebration. Despite being retired in 2014, the beer's revival marks a decade since its last appearance and aligns with the brewery's milestone anniversary.
"We expect this limited-time offering will surprise and delight our loyal Yuengling beer drinkers," Yuengling said.
To celebrate its return, Yuengling will host "First Pour" tasting events in Pennsylvania and Florida, where enthusiasts can indulge in the inaugural sips of Yuengling Bock and stock up on supplies. The festivities, scheduled to commence later this week, promise live music, delectable snacks, and exclusive merchandise to commemorate the occasion.
The Yuengling Museum & Gift Shop, in Pottsville, will hold an event on Friday, February 23rd, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m., where patrons can enjoy Yuengling Bock on draft and purchase cases of 12-pack (12 oz) cans. Additionally, limited-edition Bock tee shirts will be available for purchase.
