Upon arrival, officers encountered a male, later identified as Daniel Grosser, 28, of Ashland in the parking lot who appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Grosser was identified by store employees as the male who had been causing a disruption inside the store.
Officers attempted to speak with Grosser who was talking with incoherent statements.

Grosser refused to follow all verbal commands communicated by police and officers struggled with Grosser while taking him into custody for Retail Theft and other charges.
Grosser was subsequently transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville for an evaluation unrelated to this incident.
The Pennsylvania State Police from Frackville and Butler Township Police assisted on scene and with transporting Grosser to the hospital.
Frackville Police Patrolman Brian Reno filed a criminal complaint through Magisterial District Judge Edward Tarantelli’s office charging Grosser with a misdemeanor Retail Theft, Resisting Arrest, and Public Drunkenness.
