According to Pottsville Police, on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024, just before midnight, Ptlm. Flail was dispatched to City Hall for an assault.
Upon arrival, Ptlm. Flail made contact with a female victim who resides in the 700 block of North 3rd St. who reported being assaulted by her boyfriend Naszier Colburn, 28, of Easton.
The victim reported Colburn was highly intoxicated and began accusing her of cheating on him. The victim reported as she was entering the kitchen, Colburn came up from behind her and violently grabbed her by her throat and threw her to the ground and began striking her head repeatedly against the ground.
The victim told her 4 children, to run to the bedroom and lock the door as Colburn continued to violently assault her. According to the victim, this assaulted lasted for approximately 30-45 minutes as she tried to escape from him on the kitchen floor.
The victim stated she was able to break free and ran to bedroom with the children and locked the door. The victim then heard Colburn running up the stairs and broke the door in.
Colburn grabbed her by the neck and stated, "I Will Kill You" as he pinned her to the ground with his knee on her throat. Colburn grabbed her by ponytail and continued to drag her around the room bashing her body off the walls and bed. Colburn proceed to sit on her chest to the point she could not breath and lost consciousness for an undetermined amount of time. The victim stated she regained consciousness and grabbed the children and ran out the door.
The victim stated Colburn had been physical with her in the past, but this is the first time she fear she would die or be seriously injured from his actions. She further stated she feared she would not be able to protect her children if she was seriously injured.
The victim sustained several ligature marks to her neck and throat along with bruising to the side of her face. The victim was transported to Lehigh Valley East for medical treatment.
Ptlm. Flail completed a criminal complaint for Naszier Tyree Colburn, charging him with (1) one count, Aggravated Assault, (F1), (1) one count, Strangulation, (F2), (1) one count, Terroristic Threats, (M1), (1) one count, Simple Assault, (M2), Pursuant to Domestic Violence and (1) one count, Harassment, (S).
Colburn was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James Reiley and bail was set at 25,000 straight cash. Colburn was unable to post bail and was remanded to the Schuylkill County Prison.
