A Hazle Township man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after an alleged domestic assault in Frackville on Monday.
While responding the incident, officers were advised that the assault was occurring inside a Honda Civic which was stopped in Anthony's Pizza parking lot.
Contact was made with the male, later identified as Yaniel Arriaga-Ceballos, 22, of Hazle Township.
Arriaga-Ceballos advised officers that he was involved in a domestic argument with his girlfriend and children’s mother who was still inside the vehicle.
Police spoke with the 19-year-old victim who was seated in the front passenger seat of the vehicle holding their 2-year-old daughter. The victim stated that there was a verbal confrontation that escalated, and Arriaga-Ceballos began assaulting her while she was holding their daughter. She explained that Arriaga-Ceballos struck her numerous times in the face and back, and at least once in her stomach.
Officers observed injury to the victim’s right eye, which was bleeding, blood around her lips and inside her mouth, and numerous scratches about her face and neck. The victim complained of pain in her back and that she felt numbness throughout her body. Additionally, the victim was concerned due to being seven months pregnant.
Shenandoah EMS assisted on scene and transported the victim and her daughter to Lehigh Valley Medical East for a medical evaluation.
A criminal complaint was completed charging Yaniel Arriaga-Ceballos with one count of aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment pursuant to domestic violence arrests.
