Jennifer L. Chappell
, 50, of Lykens passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at her home following a lengthy illness.

Born in Altoona, November 18, 1973, a daughter of Rose McGary Stewart, Gallitzen and the late Kenny Stewart. She was a graduate of Penn Cambria High School.

Before becoming ill, Jennifer worked at the Tremont Health & Rehabilitation Center as a certified nursing assistant.

Jennifer was a creative soul who loved arts and crafts and painting. She also enjoyed camping with her friends and family.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sonya.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her four children, Kala Herb and her husband Josh, Iowa, Amanda Chappell and her companion Brett Donmoyer, Tower City, Cory Chappell and his wife Britny, Millersburg, and Jake Chappell, Wiconisco; six grandchildren, Rem, Ben, Owen, Alycia, Hazel, and Rylee; two brothers, Joseph and Keith Feeney, both of Ohio; a sister, Rhonda Amsler, Indiana, PA; her former husband, Mark Chappell, Wiconisco; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will be holding a private memorial service.

Nancy M. Fetterhoff
, 87, of Tower City, passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at her home.

Born in Muir on October 23, 1936, a daughter of the late Ralph and Pauline Wolfgang Dinger. She was a 1954 graduate of the former Porter Township High School.

Nancy retired from Wert Bookbinding. Following retirement she worked as a greeter at Walmart for several years. Nancy formerly attended the Muir Foursquare Gospel Church, and was employed by the church's Christian school.

She was a faithful member of the Twin Valley Alliance Church, Williamstown.

Nancy will be remembered for her strong Christian faith and her love for her family. Her family always came before any of her needs. She was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her, especially her family, church family, and her friends at Tower View apartments, whom she dearly loved.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Philip,1971, a grandson, Justin Fetterhoff, a sister, Doris Kinzer, three brothers, Robert, Leon and Clair Dinger.

Surviving are her two sons, Philip "Scott" Fetterhoff and his wife Pam, Ohio and Michael Fetterhoff and his wife Sherry, Tower City; three grandchildren, Ashley Laviola and her husband Joe, Nicholas Fetterhoff and his wife Megan and Logan Fetterhoff and his wife Jocelyn; four great grandchildren, Jonah and Asher Laviola, Bradley and Karsen Fetterhoff; one brother Lamar Dinger, New York

Services will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at 3:00 pm from the Twin Valley Alliance Church, Williamstown with Pastor Joel McGarvey officiating. Visitation will be from 2-3 pm at the church. A meal and time of fellowship will follow the service in the church social hall. Private burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorial donations in her name can be made to Twin Valley Alliance Church, 9781 State Rt. 209, Williamstown PA 17098.

Joseph E. Yokitis
, 81, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Tower Health Reading Hospital. He was the loving husband of Joanne M. (Gulko) Yokitis, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.

Born in York, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Blanche (Bersonavage) Yokitis. After graduating from Pottsville High School (Class of 1960), Joe worked briefly as a barber in St. Clair, PA. He served in the U.S. Navy from June, 1963, stationed at the U.S. Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia, until he was honorably discharged in 1967. He began his career as an electronic technician with Western Electric, and stayed with the company as it changed to AT&T, then Lucent, and finally Agere, from which he retired in 2002.

Joe especially loved gardening, tinkering at his workbench, meeting up with his fellow retirees for their monthly breakfast, and spending quality time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory is wife, Joanne; son, Michael Joseph Yokitis, husband of Phuong, Alexandria, VA; daughter, Terri Lynn, wife of Joseph Witkowski, Sinking Spring; grandchildren: Derek Witkowski, Ashley Witkowski, Grace Yokitis, and Chloe Yokitis; brother, Robert Yokitis, husband of Rose, Williamsport.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 8, 2024 at 12:00 pm at St. Ignatius Loyola, 2600 St. Albans Dr. Reading, PA 19609. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ignatius Loyola Church at the address above, or to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.

James P. Haughney
, 85, of Mahanoy City, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 12th, at St. Luke’s Carbon Campus surrounded by his loving family.

Born in the former Locust Mountain Hospital in Shenandoah, he was the son of the late James and Margaret (Bradigan) Haughney.

He graduated from Mahanoy City High School in 1956, then Temple University, and then Eckels School of Mortuary Science in Philadelphia. He owned and operated the James P. Haughney Funeral Home in Mahanoy City for over 60 years.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a Corpsman.

Jim was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Church, the Humane Fire Company, Knights of Columbus, Mahanoy Area Golf League, and White Birch Golf Club. Jim was an avid fan of the New York Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, and Michigan Wolverines. He was also a lifelong supporter of the Mahanoy Area basketball teams.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents were his sisters – Maggie and Susan, his brother – Edward, and an infant grandson.

Surviving is his wife Kathleen (Fallon) at home, his daughter Susan (John) Fletcher – Rhode Island, his daughter Kathleen (John) Kaczmarczyk – New York, his daughter – Patricia (Michael) Joseph – Mahanoy City, a son, James Haughney – at home, and his daughter – Ceane (Bryan) Corbett – Maryland. Grandchildren- Patrick, Megan, Kelly, Susan, Laura, Nicole, Michael, Maggie, Kieran H., and Kieran C. Great-grandchildren – Elijah, Zoey, and Isaac. Also surviving is a sister, Mary (Bernard) Rutkowsky and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 11:00am officiated by Fr. Kevin Gallagher. Friends may call at the church from 9:00am until the time of service. Interment will follow in St. Canicus Cemetery- Mahanoy City.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to St. Teresa of Calcutta Church or the Mahanoy Area Boys and Girls Basketball Teams.

Funeral Arrangements are under the care of the James P. Haughney Funeral Home with assistance from Franklin Fetter of the Jane Clifford Ritz Funeral Home and Steve and Brad Oravitz with the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc.
