Barbara Ann (Studlick) Davis, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2024 at the age of 82 after a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family at hospice in Pottsville.Barbara was born on August 22, 1941 in Frackville, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph S. and Josephine A. Studlick. She grew up in a tight-knit Polish/Lithuanian family alongside her siblings, forging bonds that would last a lifetime. Barbara graduated from Frackville High School. Her fine piano skills and her love of music led her to attending Bloomsburg College.
Barbara was a devoted single mother to her children, John, Daryl, and Jeff and a devoted grandmother to her grandson Aaron, whom she raised and resided with. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing and guiding them, instilling in them values of compassion and resilience. Her children and grandson were her pride and joy and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She worked at the Ashland Hospital, Schuylkill County Justice Office, PP&L, and for the State of Pennsylvania. In her later years she worked part-time at Boyer’s Food Market to continue chatting with people.
Throughout her life, Barbara was known for being happy and her generous spirit and unwavering commitment to helping others. She dedicated many hours to St. John’s Polish National Church and the Wesleyan Church Clothing Pantry striving to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate and making new friends. Barbara had a soft spot for homeless cats and adopted and loved many of them in her lifetime. Her kindness and compassion touched the hearts of all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on her community.
Barbara is survived by her sons, John and his wife Maureen, Frackville; Daryl and his wife Jean, Ringtown and Jeff Davis and his partner Samantha of Mercersburg; her grandson and light of her life, Aaron; her siblings, Joyce Hatch, Butler, PA and Joe Studlick, Portsmouth, RI; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Barbara will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth, wisdom, and boundless love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 21st at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Polish National Catholic Church, Frackville. A viewing for friends will be held on Wednesday evening, March 20th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, 501 Washington Street Frackville. There will be no viewing on Thursday morning. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery, Frackville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made, in Barbara’s name, to the Hillside SPCA at PO Box 233 Pottsville, PA 17901.
May she rest in peace, knowing that she was dearly loved and will not be forgotten.

Born in Coaldale on March 26, 1955, David was the son of the late James, Sr. and Joan (Petrash) Chickilly. A 1973 graduate of Marian High School, he was employed as a quality controller by Carpenter Tech in Reading and previously worked for many years as a mechanic at the former Atlas Powder Company in Reynolds. A lifelong hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman, David was a member of the West Penn Archery Club and the West Penn Rod and Gun Club. He loved landscaping and gardening, was a knowledgeable and meticulous craftsman, and took great pride in his property, particularly in his lawn. His grandchildren looked forward to “Pappy’s Pancakes” and could often be heard telling family “Whatever it takes.”
David is survived by three daughters, Lisa Chickilly of Union, NJ, Angela Chickilly of Schwenksville, PA, Susan and her husband Ted Sidoriak of Tafton, PA, and; a son, Christopher Kruslicky and his wife Donna of Summit Hill; five grandchildren, Emma Sidoriak, Sophia Coccio, Maggie Sidoriak, Chloe Kruslicky, and Valerie Kruslicky; a brother, Michael J. Chickilly, Sr. and his wife Joann of Summit Hill; a sister-in-law, Vivian Chickilly of Tamaqua; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, James Chickilly, Jr. Services will be held at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, March 20, at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad Street, Tamaqua. Call Wednesday, 6 PM to 7:30 PM at the funeral home.

Lynelle Rae (Horne) David, 72 of Liverpool passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center, Camp Hill.
Scripture services will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 10:00 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah. Interment will follow in Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

James “Jim” Earls Jr, 76, of Locustdale passed away Thursday March 14, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center-Danville.

Born in Queens, New York on February 11, 1948 he was the son of the late James Sr. and Gloria (Grier) Earls.
He worked at Tri State Envelope in Ashland for many years until his retirement.
Jim was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Ashland.
He was an avid record collector and enjoyed music.
Jim is survived by; sister Diane (Bob) Sluck, Jim Thorpe; sister JoAnne (Steve) Babinchak, New Boston; brother Gary Earls (Louise), Fullerton CA; brother Robert Earls (Kathleen), Ashland; many nieces & nephews & cousins.
Services and interment will be held privately at the family’s convenience.
