James J. Conti, 68, Girardville passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, March 23rd.
Born in Shenandoah, he was a son of the late Raymond and Ruth (Albright) Conti.
Jim was a 1974 graduate of North Schuylkill High School.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Diane Szafransky.
Jim is survived by his siblings: Phillip Conti and his wife Sandra; Raymond Conti and his wife Theresa; Joanne Dietz and her husband Earl; Christine Phillips and her husband Steve; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 28th from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, 403 W. Main Street, Girardville with Rev. Giuseppe Esposito officiating. Friends are invited to his viewing at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Shenandoah.

Berthamae Konstas passed away peacefully on Friday March 22nd, 2024 at the age of 95. Berthamae was a guest of The Summit at Blue Mountain Nursing Home in Lehighton for the last 5 years, but has been a lifelong resident of Summit Hill, Pennsylvania. Berthamae was a beloved wife, mother, doting Nana, and great-grandmother. Her kind and gentle demeanor will be truly missed by all those that had the pleasure of knowing her.
Berthamae is survived by her sons; Todd A. Konstas of Summit Hill, Brad P. Konstas of Lehighton and daughter-in-law Donna Konstas of Lansford; grandchildren, Zachary Konstas of Colorado Springs, CO, Aja (Matthew) Knouse of Hummelstown, PA, Dakota (Austin) Eaton of Toledo, IL, and Jason Shemansik; great-grandchildren, Ella, Waylon, Greyson, Wells, and Noah. Many nieces and nephews also survive Berthamae. She is preceded in death by her parents; Henry and Alberta (Auckerman) McMichael; her husband Angelo "Angie" P. Konstas in 2013; sister Faye Bryant in 2015 and her late husband Jack; son Scott W. Konstas in 2017.
Berthamae was born Monday, September 24,1928 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania. She was the Valedictorian of the 1946 graduating class of the former Summit Hill High School, she then matriculated to Thomas Jefferson University School of Nursing in Philadelphia earning her certification in Laboratory Science. Prior to raising her three boys, Berthamae worked as a laboratory technician, and then as a preschool aid at the Presbyterian Church Preschool in Summit Hill for many years. A devoted 70 plus year member of the Summit Hill United Methodist Church, Berthamae belonged to the Faith Circle, sang in the senior choir and held many other offices over her years of service. She also served as President in the United Methodist Women's group for 27 years, and treasurer for 5. In her free time, Berthamae enjoyed reading, gardening and staying on top of the latest fashion trend. Berthamae's late husband Angie was a Hall of Fame football and wrestling coach at various high schools in the area for many years. His success as a coach was fostering a sense of family amongst his athletes and his secret to that success was Berthamae's ability to embrace these young men as part of her family. Todd and Brad have been humbled by how many of their father's former athletes have reached out to their mother during her stay in Lehighton.
Funeral service will be held at the United Methodist Church located at 101 East White Street Summit Hill, Pennsylvania 18250 at 11 A.M. on Wednesday March 27, 2024. Friends may call in church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services. Pastors John and Sheena Mylecraine will officiate. Private Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
