A wanted fugitive was taken into custody early Tuesday evening in Ashland.
Around 6:00pm, Tuesday, law enforcement converged on a home in the 400 Block of Walnut Street where wanted fugitive, Michael Fickinger, 30, of Ashland, was taken into custody.
According to Ashland Police Chief Ger Daley, local, State, and Federal law enforcement was following leads throughout the day Tuesday searching for Fickinger.
Chief Daley said they followed a lead to the home on Walnut Street where Fickinger was found hiding in the basement of the home.
Fickinger has been wanted by State Parole and was wanted by State Police after he fled a traffic stop on foot on February 25th, 2024, on West Main Street in Butler Township near Girardville.
