Several homes were involved in a multi alarm fire that drew firefighters from all around Schuylkill County on Sunday afternoon.
Around 12:45pm, Sunday, emergency personnel were called to the 600 Block of North 2nd Street in Minersville for a structure fire.
Responding firefighters arrived to find heavy fire from 3 homes.
Several people were rescued from upstairs roofs as firefighters responded.
High wind gust continued to fuel the flames as firefighters responded.
The fire, which started around the 619/617 address heavily damaged both homes and continued to spread through 615, 613, 611, and 609.
It took firefighters approximately an hour and a half before bringing it under control. The fire struck at least 3 alarms calling in fire units from all ends of Schuylkill County.
At least 2 victims were reported to have been injured with one being flown with burns. One firefighter was also reported to have been injured.
No word on a cause as of Sunday afternoon. The American Red Cross was at the scene to help victims and the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal was called to investigate.
