PennDOT has announced several road work projects scheduled to take place this week in Schuylkill County.
Market Street Maintenance in East Norwegian Township and Port Carbon Borough
Starting on April 15, 2024, PennDOT maintenance forces will be conducting maintenance work on Market Street, spanning from Coal Street to Mill Street. This project involves daytime lane restrictions with flagging operations from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The work is estimated to be completed by April 17, 2024.
Drainage Work on PA 924 in East Union Township
PennDOT maintenance forces will also be working on drainage improvements along PA 924, between Swanks Road and Pumping Station Road in East Union Township. Lane restrictions will be in place during the daytime from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, starting April 15, 2024. This project is anticipated to be completed by May 1, 2024.
Crack Sealing on PA 901 in Barry Township
In Barry Township, maintenance crews will be conducting crack sealing operations on PA 901, from PA 54 to I-81. This will entail daytime lane restrictions with flagging in effect from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, beginning April 15, 2024. The estimated completion date for this maintenance work is April 19, 2024.
Nighttime Milling & Paving on PA 183
A resurfacing project on PA 183, stretching from the Berks County Line to Lake Wynonah, will commence on April 14, 2024. Expect lane restrictions with flagging at various points along this route during the nighttime hours from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. This project, carried out by a PennDOT contractor, is slated for completion by April 19, 2024.
