On Thursday, the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce helped cut the ribbon on the new Frackville Business Center.
In what used to be the M&T Bank building along South Lehigh Street in Frackville has now become the home of 5 businesses.
After M&T Bank closed their Frackville branch a couple years ago, the building was left vacant until the building was brought back to life by Linda Yeich, owner of Northeast Pennsylvania Settlement, LLC and Christine Holman Esq. owner of the Law Offices of Christine Holman. Shortly after, Wendy Knorr moved in with her business Realty World and Dave Pedron's Insurance Agency.
After fire directly across the street left Pam Tomko's counseling services without a home, the businesses within the business center opened their doors and Pam's business moved in the following week.
Schuylkill Chamber's ribbon cutting was long coming, and it was an exciting day to celebrate not only the growth life of new businesses in Frackville but to celebrate them working together.
The event included speakers such as Schuylkill County Commissioners Baron Hetherington and Gary Hess, Representatives Tim Twardzik and Dane Watro, and representatives from Congressman Dan Meuser's office as well Senator Dave Argall's. From the borough Mayor Kim Phillips and Frackville Business and Professional Association President Mark Andrewcavage.
With the cutting of the ribbon, confetti flew signaling the beginning of something new in Frackville.
