Barbara A. Evans
, 87, Frackville passed away on Friday, April 12th at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill, Pottsville.

Born in Shenandoah, she was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Post) Petusky. She was also preceded in death by her husband Shem R. Evans; her son Shem Evans IV and by her brother Jack Petusky.’

Barbara is survived by her son, Gary Evans and his wife Tina; her three daughters: Barbara Eccleston and her husband Dennis; Kate Dowling and her husband Mike; Susanne Smith; her sister, Betsy Bro; her 9 grandchildren: Kimberly Brown, Stephen Smith, Sean Smith, Keith Smith, Kristine Yesalusky, Susanne Hahn, Kathryn Tedesco, Savannah Coyne and Jacob Evans; her 18 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be private at the convenience of the family.

In loving memory of Dr. Janis Elizabeth Fegley, DO, 68, formerly of Tamaqua, who passed away July 4, 2023 at Lacey, Washington.

She was born March 9th,1955 in Coaldale, PA, the daughter of Harold R and Alice M (Pitchalonis) Fegley. Preceded in death by her parents, twin sister Susan Fegley, brother James R Fegley and sister Victoria (Fegley) Hinkel.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Ronald A and Judith C Fegley, sisters Peggy A (Fegley) Gertz and Ann M (Fegley) Simard, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Please join us for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated May 1, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Clare of Assisi Church, 250 E Hancock St., St Clair, PA. by Reverend Monsignor William Glosser who will then officiate at the Rite of Committal at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Coal St., Port Carbon, PA.

Aloma M. Arndt
, 81, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday, April 12th, at home.

Born in Pottsville on December 27, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Virginia J. (Hewes) and Earl H. Dreher.

Aloma was the widow of Robert D. Arndt.

After graduation from Schuylkill Haven High School in 1960, Aloma attended Empire Beauty School, Pottsville.

Aloma retired from the Walk In Shoe Co. after 27 years of employment.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Schuylkill Haven.

She enjoyed singing karaoke at Cressona American Legion #222 and Auburn VFW.

Aloma is survived by a daughter, Virginia, wife of Brian McDonald, of Schuylkill Haven; a son, Robert E. Arndt, husband of Connie, of Schuylkill Haven; grandchildren, Rachel, Brendan, Taylor, Devin, Brian, David, and Jacqueline; and great grandchildren, Raine, Anya, and Declan.

In addition to her parents and husband, Aloma is preceded in death by a sister,Jacqueline Dreher and boyfriend, Kenneth Ganter.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 18th at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc, Schuylkill Haven with Rev. Brian Reading officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of services.

Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Frances M. "Peanut" Frantz
, 90, of Williamstown, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 at the Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Lykens, November 11, 1933, a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Lynch Flynn. Peanut was a 1951 graduate of the former Williamstown Catholic High School where she was the valedictorian of her class.

She had been a very active member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Williamstown, where she was a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women, the choir, and was a CCD teacher. She could always be be found volunteering at the church wherever need. Peanut was currently attending Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Chapel, Tower City.

Peanut dedicated her life to being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family meant the world to her. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and had been an avid bowler, belonging to a bowling league. She had also been involved with the Williamstown Girl Scouts with her daughters.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Frantz, Jr.; a son-in-law, Ronald "Monk" Calnon; a sister, Patricia Summers; four brothers, Joseph, Edward "Ned", Richard, and William Flynn.

Surviving are her four daughters, Patricia Frantz, Florida, Jeanette McSparron and her husband Dane, Muir, Kathy Calnon, Halifax and Barbara Reedy and her husband Adam, Elizabethtown; five grandchildren, Julie, Angela, Autumn, Eric, and Adam; nine great grandchildren; one brother Michael Flynn, Williamstown; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11:00 am from Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Chapel, Tower City. A visitation will be from 10-11 at the church. Peanut will be laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Williamstown.

Albert J. Pogera, 90, of Dad Burnhams Rd., Pine Grove, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024 in the Tremont Health & Rehab Center.

Born on November 7, 1933 in Palo Alto, he was a son of the late Peter J. Sr. and Frances Wassel Pogera.

He was a member of Hetzel's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.

Albert was a Marine Corp Veteran having served during the Korean War. He received the Rifle Marksman Badge, U.S.M.C. Basic Badge, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal w/ 1 star, and United Nations Service Medal.

He was a machine operator and worked for American Argo Corp.

Albert was a life member of Pine Grove VFW Post 3432, Amvets #429, and Roedersville Game and Fish, a 40 yr. member of American Legion, social member of Rock Fish & Game, Summit Station Fire Co. and Mt. Etna Fire Co.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 64 years, Alice M. Herring Pogera; a brother, Peter Pogera, Jr; two sisters, Frances Maccarone and Lillian Leonard; step sisters and brothers, Marie Hopper, Mary Zych, Maxine Harvey, Christine Golden, Roy Robinson and Bill Robinson.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Bruen of Pine Grove; two grandchildren, Jessica Staller and Travis Riegel two great grandchildren, Eithyn and Tevyn; a step sister, Margie Mann of Beufort, N.C.; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April. 18, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, with Pastor Barry Spatz officiating. There will be a viewing on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery Schuylkill Haven.

Emma K. “Emily” Balko
, 101, lifelong resident of Zion Grove passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 13, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Born in Zion Grove on August 20, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Emma Fellin.

Emma was a 1939 graduate of North Union Township High School in Nuremberg.

Emma was employed in the garment industry, at her sister’s catering business Spic & Span and Genetti Motor Lodge for many years. She made and sold hand woven rag rugs during the War Time years to supplement the family income.

She enjoyed playing the piano and cooking. Emma will be remembered for her kindness to her neighbors and friends.

She was a member of Sacred Heart/St. John Bosco Church, Conyngham; Tirolesi Alpini of Hazleton, PA; VFW Auxiliary Unit 816, Conyngham; American Legion Auxiliary Unit 616, Sheppton; and the Weston Athletic Association.

Emma was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Edward Palubinsky and Emil Balko; her siblings: Matilda Fellin, Joseph Fellin, David Fellin (Sheppton Mine Disaster), Della Skurka and Barbara Martini.

She is survived by her children Edward Palubinsky, Mary Ellen Palubinsky, Carol Ann Zielinski and Geraldine Serenshock; her grandchildren: Lee Ann White, Stephen Palubinsky and Christina Galbiati; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Emma will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Sheppton.

Memorial contributions can be made, in Emma’s name, to the Nuremberg Weston Fire Co., 459 Hazle Street Sugarloaf, PA 18249

William P. “Cre” Creasy
, 65, of Frackville, peacefully departed from this life at his residence on Monday, April 15, 2024.

Born on February 14, 1959, in Shenandoah Heights, he was the beloved son of Annette J. (Gaborek) Creasy of Shenandoah and the late Harold C. Creasy, Jr.

Bill graduated from Shenandoah Valley High School in the class of 1977 and went on to become a dedicated self-employed contractor for almost four decades.

He was an esteemed member of the Polish American Fire Company in Shenandoah.

Bill found joy in riding his Harley, spending time with his dogs and cheering for the Buffalo Bills and Notre Dame.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 41 years, formerly Anna Frantz, and their three daughters, Tanya of Harrisburg, Averi, and Grace of Frackville. He is also survived by his brother Michael Creasy and his wife Helene of Shenandoah Heights, along with sisters Lynn Davis and her husband Richard of Hometown, and Cindy Jones and her husband Ron of Frackville. Bill will be remembered fondly by nieces, nephews and many friends.

Scripture and prayer services will be held on Friday morning, April 19, 2024 at 10:30 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin Street, Shenandoah with Rev. Craig Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held on Friday morning from 8:00 am until 10:30 am at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to either the American Heart Association or Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

Edith F. Rabuck
, 92, of Tower City, passed away peacefully Sunday night, April 14, 2024 at the Tremont Health and Rehab Center.

Born in Clarks Valley, April 2, 1932, a daughter of the late Gurney and Beatrice Fetterhoff Rabuck. She was 1950 graduate of the former Porter Township High School.

She was a proud United States Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War.

Edith was retired from Amp Inc., Tower City.

She was a member of numerous churches throughout her life and always looked forward to going to church on Sundays.

She could often be found going on her daily walks throughout town. She also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and going to local sporting events.

In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her beloved niece, Missy Graver, June 3, 2023, who was her shopping buddy and caregiver; four brothers, Lloyd, William, James, and Donald Rabuck; three sisters, Bertha Weaver, Doris Wetzel, and Joyce Schaeffer.

She is survived by her brother, Gurney "Skip" Rabuck and his wife Jayme, Williamstown; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Following Edith's wishes, she will be laid to rest privately with full military honors at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
