Several Schuylkill County School Districts have announced they will dismiss early on Monday, April 8th, 2024 due to the solar eclipse that will occur in the afternoon.

The school districts that announced dismissals so far have included the following message in their announcement.
"Looking directly at the sun without proper eye protection, even briefly, can cause permanent eye damage. The timing of the eclipse during our regular dismissal times presents challenges for us to ensure the safety of all students and bus drivers in the district. "Dismissal times are as follows:
