A fire damaged a Tamaqua home and sent a woman to the hospital Monday evening.
Around 6:45pm, Monday, emergency personnel were called to 110 Pitt Street, Tamaqua for a house fire. As firefighters responded, they reported of a smoke column and a working fire was advised.
On the initial dispatch, "possible entrapment" was alerted but all occupants had escape.
The fire was brought under control within an hour.
A family of 4 that lived in the home was displaced and several cats died in the fire. The rear of the home sustained extensive damage and a home next door sustained exterior damage from the heat of the fire.
A woman that lived in the home was sent to the hospital with unknown injuries.
As of late Monday, the cause was still under investigation.
