Comcast Expands Service Capability to 3,500 Homes and Businesses in Schuylkill County



Comcast is further extending its footprint in Schuylkill County with the completion of its expansion in East Norwegian and New Castle Townships, and Palo Alto, Port Carbon, and St. Clair Boroughs. 

According to a press release from Comcast, on Tuesday, nearly 3,500 more homes and businesses can connect to their network.

“With Xfinity and Comcast Business Internet, TV and mobile services, our local communities have vital access to the products and tools they need,” said Scott Krater, Port Carbon Borough Council President. 
“Comcast’s commitment to local growth and community investment is important and we’re glad to see them in Port Carbon and the surrounding areas.”

Comcast says it now serves more than 40 municipalities in Schuylkill County.

Residents can visit Xfinity.com and businesses can visit ComcastBusiness.com to see if their address is eligible for service. 

“In addition to our growing service footprint we also proudly operate a Lift Zone, which offers free WiFi service to promote digital skills and education, at The Salvation Army Corps Pottsville,” said Ricky Frazier Jr., Senior Vice President for Comcast’s Keystone Region, which is based in Pennsylvania. “We’re committed to keeping people connected while also investing in closing the digital divide.”

Comcast also recently announced network expansions in other parts of Pennsylvania including Allegheny, Blair, Luzerne, and Northumberland Counties. Over the last several years, Comcast expanded its network to more than 315,000 additional homes and businesses across the Commonwealth.
