Emergency responders were back at the scene of a missing kayaker near Girardville on Wednesday.
Around 2:15pm, Tuesday, emergency personnel and dive teams were called to the "A-Hole" and popular water hole/stripping pit, for a reported missing kayaker.
On the original dispatch, it was advised that the caller state they were kayaking with a friend when one of them went missing. The caller reportedly went searching and found the friend's kayak overturned in the water, with no one else around.
Girardville fire is at the scene along with Englewood Fire, and dive teams from Mahanoy City, and Schuylkill Haven.
Crews worked into the early evening before suspending operations when storms pushed through.
On Wednesday, by 9:00am, emergency responders were back at the scene and searching the waters of the A-Hole again.
State Police, who are leading the investigation, were also at the scene Wednesday and were waiting for a special drone owned by the Pennsylvania State Police that gave them additional capabilities to check the water.
As of 1:45pm, crews were working on cleaning up due to weather moving into the area.
East Main Street in Girardville on the east end of Girardville remained closed while crews were at the scene.
The identity of the person they are searching for has not been released.
