A family of 4 was forced from their Pottsville home suddenly Thursday morning have a tree fell on it.
Just after 7:00am, Thursday, storms with rain and high wind pushed through Schuylkill County. As with any storm that come through our area, that caused some trees to come down, knocking down utility poles and power lines.
First responders were called out to many of these calls but one in particular has forced a family from their home.
During the storm, a tree completely uprooted along Timber Road in the Forest Hills section of Pottsville. That tree landed atop the home at 18 Timber Road and also their SUV parked in their driveway.
The residents were home at the time and had to be rescued by emergency personnel.
Due to the damage done by the home, the home was deemed unlivable until the damage could be repaired.
According to the American Red Cross, the organization is helping the 4 adult residents that lived in the home.
