The Pottsville-based Law Firm of Fanelli, Evans & Patel announced Monday that it will continue its partnership with the Schuylkill League by sponsoring "Hits for Heroes" and "Strike Out Hunger" campaigns during this year's Schuylkill League baseball and softball playoffs.
The Law Firm says it will donate $20.00 for each recorded hit and $20.00 for each recorded strikeout during the baseball and softball playoffs.
This past winter, the Law Firm sponsored a "3s For A Cure" campaign during the Schuylkill League basketball playoffs, which resulted in over $3,000.00 being donated to Lehigh Valley Health Network and its fight against pediatric cancer.
In a joint statement, Attorneys B. J. Evans and Sud Patel noted, "We are thrilled to continue our Schuylkill League partnership by sponsoring "Hits for Heroes" and "Strikeout Hunger" during this year's baseball/softball playoffs. The monies for "Hits of Heroes" will be given to the Schuylkill County Firefighters, and the monies for "Strikeout Hunger" will go to help fill our food pantries through the County. Too many people take for granted the heroic work which our firefighters do year round, and the chance to make a donation to their organization was a no-brainer for us. Likewise, those people do not realize that our food pantries provide a real lifeline throughout the entire calendar year, not only close to the Holidays."
