Geisinger St. Luke’s Opens Wound Care Center in Orwigsburg



Geisinger St. Luke’s Wound Care Center in Orwigsburg is now open. 

The Center specializes in treating difficult to heal wounds caused by diabetes, circulatory disorders, pressure-related injuries, trauma or complex surgery.

The Center, which began taking patients this month, is located in the Geisinger St. Luke’s Medical Office Building at 1165 Centre Turnpike.

The Center is staffed by Allison E. Watts, MD, a wound care specialist, and Emily Gombosi, PDM, a podiatrist.

Services provided to help wounds heal as quickly and as safely as possible include:Advanced wound dressings
  • Compression therapy
  • Biological skin applications
  • Surgical and non-surgical debridement
  • Negative pressure wound therapy
  • “Offloading” to relieve pressure on the wound
