The streets of Pottsville were filled with fire trucks and firefighters as the Pottsville Fire Department hosted the 70th Annual Schuylkill County Volunteer Fireman's Convention Parade.
The parade was the conclusion of a week's worth of events that included a memorial service, delegates night, training night, and a mug night.
This year's event included a lineup of over 200 apparatus, marching units, bands, and floats. Dick Yuengling was chosen as this year's grand marshal.
As participants arrived, they were directed to the DHH Lengel Middle School for adjudication before making their way to the starting point at 18th and West Market. From there, the parade set off promptly at 2:00pm.
The procession traversed West Market Street, North 3rd Street, and Laurel Boulevard before winding its way down Center Street in Pottsville.
Following the parade's conclusion, the celebrations continued at the Good Intent Fire Company where participants gathered for an after-party at their station. Amidst laughter and camaraderie, firefighters and community members came together as 2024 Convention came to a close.
Looking ahead to the 2025, Butler Township's Friendship Fire Company will host next year's event.
