Schuylkill Area Community Foundation's 5th Annual Schuylkill Gives Raises Over $50,000 for Non-Profits

 

Wednesday into Thursday was Schuylkill Area Community Foundation's 5th Annual Schuylkill Gives event and it raised over $50,000 for Schuylkill County non-profits. 

The 24-hour online giving initiative aimed to bring support for registered nonprofits serving Schuylkill County.

Donors were invited to visit www.schuylkillgives.com to peruse information about each of the 35 participating nonprofits and donate towards them.

The event ran from noon Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, to noon Thursday, May 9th, 2024.

After the event ended at noon Thursday, the Schuylkill County Community Foundation announced that a total of $50,239 was raised across 35 non-profits.

The Ringtown Area Library topped list receiving 200 donations totaling $13,207.

The top 10 list of non-profits and their donations included:

1. Ringtown Area Library - $13,207
2. Orwigsburg Area Free Public Library - $6,490
3. Shenandoah Area Free Public Library - $3,785
4. Hillside SPCA - $3,245
5. Walk In Art Center - $2,805
6. Servants to All - $2,455
7. Open Door Project - $2,055
8. Schuylkill County Conservancy - $1,845
9. Helping Harvest Food Bank - $1,785
10. Washington Fire Company Community Ambulance - $1,565

$500 Grand Prize - Sponsored by Carnegie Investment Counsel – Ringtown Area Library, the most unique donors from the 24 hours of giving.

The participating nonprofit that received the first donation at the below times--or closest to those exact times-- received an extra $50 (4 total awards).
