Aida F. Behler, 62, of Deer Lake passed away Thursday, May 16th, at her residence, with her family at her side.Aida was born in Castañer, Puerto Rico on September 19, 1961, the daughter of the late Reta Jane (Grady) and Caleb Hoffer Frantz.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Behler. They were happily married for 40 years.
Aida earned a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Juniata College. She worked at the family business, Behler Patterns, for many years as the office manager, while also taking care of her three children full-time.
Aida was a passionate Zumba instructor, teaching classes at the Recreation Center in Schuylkill Haven and the Strausstown Senior Center. She loved crafting and frequently participated in craft fairs in the area. She also organized the annual Deer Lake 5k for many years in support of breast cancer and multiple sclerosis research.
Aida is survived by her daughter Erin, wife of Greg Fiorentino, son Andrew Behler, husband of Laura, and son Mark Behler, fiancé of Danielle Fundakowski. She was the loving grandmother to Clara, Caleb, Lydia, Jackson, and Adalynn. She is also survived by her brothers Irvic, Elman, and John Frantz.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, May 24th at 11 AM at Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Orwigsburg. There will be a visitation from 9 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private.
As this is a celebration of Aida’s vibrant life, the family would like everyone to know that dressing in color is acceptable. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to METAvivor, 1783 Forest Drive #184, Annapolis, MD, 21401 (or online at www.metavivor.org), an organization supporting research for those battling metastatic breast cancer.
