Bryan McKinley Hoover, 82, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Monday, May 20th, at home with family by his side.Born in Reading, PA on November 30, 1941, he was a son of the late McKinley & Carolyn (Moyer) Hoover. He was an identical triplet with his brothers Bruce and Brent.
He was the husband of Merry G. (Louttit) Hoover.
Bryan was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School and Penn State University.
Bryan was a Boy Scout attaining Eagle Scout rank.
Bryan had served in the U.S. Army as a 2nd lieutenant.
He was a co-owner of his family's business, Cressona Trucking.
He was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona.
Bryan was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, especially with his grandchildren. He enjoyed growing tomatoes in his garden, as well as traveling with his family. He also enjoyed time in the pool with his grandchildren and ice cream.
In addition to his parents, Bryan is also preceded in death by his sister, Madeline "Chip" Hoover.
He is survived by his son, Mark B. Hoover & wife, Becky, Schuylkill Haven, step-daughter, Jennifer Lecher, Florida, grandchildren: Allison, Joshua, McKinley, Alyssa, Nicholas, Jordan, Alexis, & Logan, sister, Marilyn Hoover Reedy, Cressona, brothers: Bruce Hoover & wife, Jean, Cressona, & Brent Hoover, Oley, and 16 nieces & nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, on June 17th with Rev. Kevin Fruchtl officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of service.
Interment will follow at Cressona Cemetery, Cressona.
The family prefers remembrances in the form of contributions to Jam Rec Center, care of Bethesda EC Church, 155 Reedsville Road, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.

Eugene "Geno" Hall, 84, of Pottsville passed away unexpectedly on Friday May 24 in his residence.
Born in Tellula, Mississippi, on May 2,1940, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Roscoe) Hall.
Geno proudly served his country in the US Army where he was a paratrooper and an MP.
He was a machinist for over 25 years at the Hexcel Corp. and was a member of Pottsville Amvets Post 180 and the Masonic Lodge in Coatesville, Pa.
Geno loved going on the annual family cruises, especially the casinos. He was a fan of all sports and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Geno was preceded in death by his brothers and sister.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Daisy; and daughters Angela H., widow of James Schriner, of Pottsville, Pamela J. Hall of Harrisburg, and Pauline C Hall of Pottsville; grandsons: Dylan and Jordan and great grandson Carson. Also nieces Veda wife of Michael Dixon and Wanda Johnson and several other nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 1 pm at the Pottsville Amvets Post 180, 1300 Seneca St, Pottsville with Military Honors.
The family requests memorial contributions in Eugene's memory be sent to the Pottsville Amvets.
Interment in Schuylkill Memorial Park will be private at the convenience of the family.

John J. McMurtrie (also known as Mac), 89, died surrounded by his loved ones on May 27, 2024.
Mac was predeceased by the love of his life, his high school sweetheart and wife of 60 years, Nancy Sirock McMurtrie.
He was the son of the late John and Beulah Hower McMurtrie and is survived by his sisters Mary Jane (Joseph) Murphy and Judy Schroding.
A lifelong resident of St. Clair, Mac graduated from St. Clair High School in 1952 and served in the U.S. Navy as a Radarman First Class from 1954-1957. His military service gave him the opportunity to attend Bloomsburg State College and earn his B.A. in English in 1962. Mac was an avid reader and quite adept at crossword and other puzzles.
Mac served as Executive Director of the Schuylkill County Office of Public Assistance for 20 years and was a supervisor and caseworker prior to that. He looked forward to his monthly breakfasts and lunches with his former colleagues and attended them until recently.
Mac served as Master of Ceremony for St. Clair’s annual Halloween Parade for decades, co-chaired the town’s Sesquicentennial Committee, was a longtime lector at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, and a member of the St. Clair Kiwanis Club.
A sports fanatic, Mac had a soft spot for Penn State and Notre Dame football and could be heard yelling loudly at the refs on TV on any given Saturday in the Fall.
He was a devoted fan of Hallmark Christmas movies and counted the days until “Christmas in July”, as well as the October opening of the Hallmark Christmas Season.
Mac was a loving and supportive dad and will be missed deeply by his children – Cindy McMurtrie, Cheri (Dennis) Sninsky, and Kevin (Kris) McMurtrie.
He especially adored his grandchildren – Kieran (Greg) Schuettler, Kevin Sninsky (Kyra Varano), Lily Samett (Mac Jerome), Jack Samett, and Benjamin and Patrick McMurtrie. Mac credited their brilliance and good looks to HIS recessive genes.
Mac was beloved by nieces and nephews, godchildren, cousins, friends, and the neighborhood kids who called him Mr. Mac.
When asked how he wanted to be remembered, Mac simply said “Just tell them that I never intentionally hurt anyone.”
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM from St. Clare of Assisi Church, 250 E Hancock St, St Clair, PA 17970 with Rev. Msgr. William F. Glosser officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank, 117 Morgan Drive, Reading, PA 19608 or the St. Clare of Assisi Parish Memorial Fund.

Jack was born in Ashland to his late parents, William E. and Claire (McDonald) Dando. After graduating from Cardinal Brennan High School, Jack started working as a clerk for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Treasury for over 25 years before retiring.
Jack was an avid Notre Dame fan and enjoyed the annual trips to South Bend with the guys. He had a passion for restoring cars especially his Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. He also enjoyed Nascar and Sprint Car Racing.
Jack was an outdoorsman who loved, fishing, hunting and shooting guns. He was a thrill seeker who loved driving his dune buggy and riding his Jet Ski up at the “A-Hole.” He could also be seen bartending at the family bar, The Sons of Italy in Girardville.
Jack was a concert enthusiast.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Stephen Dando.
Jack is survived by his daughter Kara Dando; his son, Chaz Dando; his four sisters: Claire Salukas and her husband Josie; Cathy Dyszel; Patty Gregas; Sandy Selgrade and her husband Todd; his 3 brothers: William B. Dando; Tim Dando and his wife Jean; Michael Dando; numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Jack will be held on Saturday, June 1st from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, 403 W. Main Street, Girardville. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made, in Jack's name, to the Girardville Good Time Club in care of Todd Selgrade at 1 Powdermill Road, Girardville, PA 17935.

George R. Heffner, 72, of Minersville, passed away on Sunday morning at home with his family by his side.
Born in Pottsville on July 19, 1951, he was the son of the late George E. Heffner and the late Lillian M. (Weismiller) Heffner. He was a 1969 graduate of Minersville High School. He worked in the local knitting industry until taking a management position with Wal-Mart. He retired in 2017.
He was a member of the former St. Vincent de Paul Church and St. Michael the Archangel Church, Minersville, and a current member of Holy Family Parish of Minersville.
George was truly a family man. His family always came first. He was an active participant in his churches’ special activities; an usher, offertory collector, and volunteer for countless dinners, breakfasts, and picnics.
He was an avid sports lover, both as a participant and as a fan. He played softball with the Blue Mountain Fabrics team. He also coached girls CYO softball and CYO basketball. He served for several years as the scoreboard operator for Nativity BVM High School boys and girls basketball. He also umpired fast-pitch softball. He was a fixture on the first bleacher at Martz Hall for numerous basketball games, cheering on teams from Minersville, Nativity, and other local teams. Finally, he followed each of the Philadelphia sports teams through thick and thin and loved Penn State football.
He is survived by his wife, his high school sweetheart, of 50 years, the former Jean M. Thompson; his daughter, Shannon Hummel (spouse, Matthew), Gettysburg; twin grandsons, Jonah Robert and Christian Paul Hummel. He is also survived by his sister, Elaine Brobst, Minersville.
The family will accept visitors at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 539 Sunbury Street, Minersville on Friday from 9:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be private in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuykill Haven. The family prefers contributions to Holy Family Community Outreach, c/o Sr. Catherine Therese Brennan, 538 Sunbury Street, Minersville, or to Hillside SPCA, P. O. Box 233, Pottsville. Patricia Ann "Trish" Moyer, 73, of Wayne Twp., passed away Thursday, May 23, at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, near Orwigsburg.
Born March 25, 1951, in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Marian (Whiteash) Lipshaw.
She was married for 53 years to Richard H. Moyer.
Trish was a 1969 graduate of Nativity BVM High School.
She had devoted much of her life to caring for others as a CNA.
Trish loved her Lord and had been a member of First United Methodist Church, Schuylkill Haven.
She enjoyed flowers, her garden and trips to Maine.
Trish loved her family and was always thinking of them. In addition to her husband, she is also survived by four children, Christiane, wife of Jack Benner, of Orwigsburg, a son, Keith, husband of Crystale Moyer, of Dalmatia, Samantha Moyer, companion of Brian Hafer, of Pine Grove, and Rachel, wife of Jeremy Campbell, of Bloomsburg. Trish adored her grandchildren. She was affectionately known as "Mom Mom" by Jonathan and Olivia Benner, Cole, Cora, Cooper, Noah and Nora Moyer and Kye Campbell. She is also survived by her sister, Arlene, wife of Dave Burger, of Newmanstown; brother, Anthony Lipshaw, companion of Rose, of Schuylkill Haven; and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 30, at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Dr. Christopher Fisher officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
