Turbine Damaged by Shot Fired near Shenandoah

The Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville are investigating a case of criminal mischief that left one of the wind turbines damaged near Shenandoah.

According to Troopers, on Sunday, May 19th, 2024, around 11:00am, police responded to a wind turbine along Route 924 in West Mahanoy Township.

The investigation showed that an unknown person pried open the vent on the door of the turbine and fired a single gunshot from a .22 into the turbine.

The suspect(s) fled on a side by side or ATV in an unknown direction.
