A malfunctioning air conditioning unit is responsible for a fire call in Ashland on Wednesday afternoon.
Just before 1:00pm, Wednesday, emergency personnel were called to 129 East Centre Street in Ashland for a commercial fire at the Rite Aid.
The call came in with smoke filling the building and the smell of rubber burning.
Firefighters from Ashland, Girardville, and Lavelle responded to the scene.
No fire was found, but an air unit on the roof was found to be malfunctioning.
Firefighters ventilated the store and cleared the scene within an hour.
