Fire Damages Two Homes in Pottsville, Two Displaced and One Firefighter Injured

A fire heavily damaged two homes in Pottsville on Wednesday morning.

Around 9:50am, Wednesday, emergency personnel were dispatched to the 400 Block of East Norwegian Street in Pottsville for report of a structure fire with the caller stating they heard an explosion.

Pottsville Fire Chief Jim Misstishin was first on scene found heavy fire coming from the rear second floor of the home at 427 East Norwegian Street and advised of a working fire.

Early on in the fire, there was a report of a firefighter down, with the firefighter sustaining a wrist injury.

The fire would extend into the connected 425 heavily damaging the rear of both homes.

Around 10:45am, the fire would be reported as under control by Chief Misstisshen.

A State Police Fire Marshal would be requested to the scene to determine a cause.

According to Patricia Daley from the American Red Cross, a family of 2 adults is being assisted.
