Hillside SPCA Unveils Renovations at Open House

On Sunday, the Hillside SPCA near Pottsville hosted an open house to unveil renovations to their facility, marking a significant milestone in their mission to enhance animal welfare in the community.
The event showcased a range of upgrades, including a spay-neuter clinic, newly designed kennels, a courtyard, welcome center, and building renovations. These enhancements aim to provide a more comfortable and efficient environment for both the animals and the staff, as well as allow adopters a more comfortable experience.

The renovation project was made possible thanks to the generous contributions from donors during the two-year Capital Campaign.

In addition to celebrating the new facilities, the open house featured the unveiling of a memorial honoring Barbara Umlauf. Barbara, the shelter's late executive director, passed away six years ago, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication. Her lifelong commitment to the shelter and its mission continues to inspire the staff and volunteers.

Attendees of the open house had the opportunity to tour the new facilities, meet the dedicated team, and learn more about the vital services provided by Hillside SPCA. The event not only celebrated the completion of the renovations but also reinforced the shelter’s ongoing commitment to rescuing and rehoming animals in need.
