"Mental Health" Incident in Norwegian Township Ends Peacefully

A short police incident in Norwegian Township, near Marlin, on Sunday evening ended peacefully.

Around 9:45pm, Sunday, fire police were requested to close 4th Street in Norwegian Township between Maple Avenue and Westwood Road, near Marlin at the request of the Pennsylvania State Police for an ongoing incident.

At 12:37am, Monday, fire police were released, and the roadway reopened.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police Schuylkill Haven Barracks, the incident was considered a "mental health" incident and it ended peacefully.  The individual involved is getting help they needed.

State Police remained on scene into the early morning hours.
