The New Minersville Firehouse Bikers Club (NMFHB) and the New Minersville Firehouse Moms for Make-A-Wish® softball team are celebrating a successful 10th Annual Make-A-Wish Poker Run and Gas Griddle & Meat Raffle, raising more than $4,800 for Make-A-Wish® Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Despite rainy weather earlier this month, the event saw a dedicated turnout, with approximately 50 registrants and over 20 motorcycle riders participating in the Poker Run.
The NMFH Softball Team held a successful griddle raffle alongside the Poker Run, furthering their fundraising efforts.
"Riding for a difference" is the motto of the NMFHB, and their dedication to helping local children shines through their long-standing partnership with the NMFH Moms for Make-A-Wish team. This year marks a significant milestone, with their combined efforts surpassing $100,000 raised for local children battling critical illnesses.
"It brings joy to give joy to children," said Karen Wagner, NMFHB Vice President.
"We're a fundraising team that plays softball," said Tonya Hoppel, a member of the NMFH Softball Team. "We're so grateful for the NMFHB's active role in supporting Make-A-Wish alongside us."
Together, the NMFH Bikers and Moms for Make-A-Wish Softball teams continue to host events to transform the lives of children in Schuylkill County and surrounding areas throughout the year.
