PennDOT has announced a series of road work and inspections set to take place across various municipalities in Schuylkill County, beginning in mid-June and concluding in late July.
These projects will involve several inspections focused on bridge safety and roadway conditions, with motorists advised to expect temporary lane closures and restrictions, especially during daytime hours.

In Tamaqua Borough, on PA 309 between US 209 and Tuscarora Park Road, lane shifting will occur for bridge inspections on July 22, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Additionally, the Interstate 81 Ramp at Exit 138 (PA 309) will undergo northbound shoulder work for bridge inspection on July 19, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
Mahanoy Township
In Mahanoy Township, PA 54 between Gilberton Road and PA 339 will have an eastbound lane restriction for bridge inspection on July 17, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
