The Rotary Club of Pottsville recently presented The William Joseph Parulis Scholarship, The Henry R Fick Scholarship, and The William Davidson Scholarship to senior high school students in Minersville, Nativity and Pottsville High Schools.
The William Joseph Parulis Scholarship was awarded to Minersville Area High School Senior, Aya M’Nadi.
Aya M’Nadi. is the daughter of Abdelkhalid M’Nadi and Ghizlane El Horre of Minersville. Her activities include: Diversity Club founder, Penn State Schuylkill Youth Ambassador, Art Club President, STEM club member, Spanish Club Member, National Honor Society Member, Aevidum Member, Arnold Delin Award winner, Activity Director at Islamic Society of Schuylkill County, and Activity Director at Schuylkill Center Nursing Home. After graduation, Aya plans to major in Bio-Pre Medicine.
The Henry R Fick Scholarship was awarded to Nativity High School Senior, Nolan Ferhat.
Nolan Ferhat is the son of Joe and Debbie Ferhat of Pottsville. His school activities consist of: Baseball, Football, Basketball, Rotary Student of the Month (January), National Honor Society, Interact Club, Ski Club, Student Council Class President, Football Scholar Athlete, Captain of the Football and Baseball teams (2-years), and All-Area Baseball Team.
Nolan is a volunteer with the Red Cross Blood Drives, Coat and Diaper Drives, Salvation Army, and helps with school events. After graduation, Nolan plans to attend The University of Miami to study Business Management.
The William Davidson Scholarship was presented to Pottsville Area High School Senior, Armonia Paniagua.
Armonia Paniagua is the daughter of Robin and Cuauhtemoc Paniagua of Pottsville. Her school activities consist of Foreign Language Club, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Key Club, Ecology Club, German Club, Class Secretary, Student Council Officer, TRIO Upward Bound Program.
She is a part time employee at Lehigh Valley Hospital. Her honors include National Honor Society member, Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, and Rochester Institute of Technology Women in STEM Award. Armonia plans to attend Penn State University to major in Biology.
