A Ringtown man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after a domestic incident Sunday evening led to a woman being shot.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on Sunday, June 16th, 2024, just after 7:00pm, Troopers responded to the residence of 527 West Main Street, Ringtown Borough for the report of an active domestic with weapons involved.
Upon arrival, a 51-year-old female victim was determined to have been shot in the leg. The female was subsequently transported to Geisinger Medical Center – Danville and is currently in stable condition.
The Pennsylvania State Police – Troop L, Major Case team was activated and as a result of this investigation Austin Heath Snyder, 25, of Ringtown, was charged with Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, four (4) counts of Reckless Endangerment, two (2) counts of Endangering
the Welfare of a Child, and Harassment. Snyder was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge
Anthony Kilker and was committed to the Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $150,000 straight cash bail.

State Police said along with the gunshot victim, a 24-year-old female, a 3-year-old female, and a 4-month-old male were in the room at the time of the incident.
State Police say the incident was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public at this time.
