Robert Royer Jr, 57, of Pine Street, Ashland, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024, with family by his side, at his residence. Born in Bloomsburg, October 28, 1966, he is the son of Linda Levan Royer, Bloomsburg, and the late Robert Royer Sr, who passed away in September 2022. He attended Bloomsburg High School, and was employed as a heavy equipment operator for R. E. Pierson Materials, Middleport Quarry, until his retirement. He was a member of the former Saint Mauritius Roman Catholic Church, now St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, Ashland. Bob enjoyed NASCAR, and attending Jeepers back the Blue events. He was very happy volunteering with local S.P.C.A.‘s and driving animal transports for animal rescue organizations.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Bob’s Life, Monday, June 17, 2024, at 11 AM, in the Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, 1323 Centre St., Ashland. Officiating will be Rev. Dana Heckman Beil, pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Ashland. A viewing will begin at 9 AM until the funeral service. Interment will follow in the New St. Mauritius Cemetery, Ashland. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to P.S.P.C.A. Danville Center, 1467 Bloom Road, Danville, PA., 17821.

Dolores (Panacio) Nark, 90, formerly of Preston Avenue, Girardville, passed away at her home in Forest Hill, Maryland. Visit www.Fritzfuneralhome.com. The Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, Ashland, will announce funeral arrangements.

On June 11, 2024, Dolores Rita Nark (nee Panacio); beloved wife of the late Donald Nark; devoted mother of Dianne Sechak and her late husband Pete; loving grandmother of Nicole Sechak; dear sister of the late Ellen Morba, Argia Yurenka and Dominic Panaccio.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Dolores’s life at Evans Life Celebration Home-Forest Hill on Monday June 17, 2024 from 11:00 am- 1:00 pm with a funeral mass at St. Ignatius Church (Hickory) on Monday June 17, 2024 at 1:30 pm. Interment: Ashland, Pennsylvania.

Richard L. "Gump" Schaeffer, 91, of Rock Rd., Pine Grove, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024 in Seton Manor Nursing Home, Orwigsburg, surrounded by his family.

Born on January 1, 1933 in Pine Grove, he was a son of the late Robert and Amy Berger Schaeffer.

Richard worked in the Ore Mine, Bethlehem Steel, Concrete Safety and the Tannery.

He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.

Richard was an avid bowler for many years, was a coach for Pine Grove Little League for several years and played baseball for the Suedburg Mets. He enjoyed hunting and attending all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildrens activities and sporting events.

Preceding him in death was his wife of 55 years, Shirley M. "Toot" Sholly Schaeffer; four brothers, William, Paul, Mervin and Norman Schaeffer; two sisters, Marion Wenrich and Beulah Reed.

Surviving are a son, David and wife Susan Schaeffer of Tremont; a daughter, Glenda and husband Chuck Nagle of Pine Grove; six grandchildren, Jessica Wolfe, Justine Hosler, Christine Locke, Jessica Nagle, Jeremy Stricker and Jonathan Kramer; fourteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 11:30 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, with Pastor Brian Beissel officiating. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 9:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 312 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 in his memory.

Mary L. Hardy, 54, Frackville passed away unexpectedly on Thursday at the home of her life partner in Shenandoah.

Born in Pottsville she was a daughter of Mary Shoup Fowler, Tower City and the late Harold Fowler.

Mary had been employed as a Health Aide at several area nursing centers. She was of the Protestant Faith.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her husband Theodore Hardy.

Mary is survived by one son and three daughters: Gunner Johns, Danville, Bethany Fowler, Lykens, Jennifer Davidson, Mahanoy City and Kiera Johns, Danville, her brother Harold J. Fowler, Frackville, her three sisters; Debbie wife of Darryl Miller, Tower City, Michelle Bowen, Tower City and Diane wife of Roy Miller, Tower City, her Life Partner Albert Amberlavage, Shenandoah, her loving grandchildren; Makiah, Kellinah, Jaidan, Adam, Haylei and Harmony also by several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held on Wednesday evening, June 19, 2024 from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville.
