Lawrence 'Larry' Kelly, 85, a resident of Pottsville, passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 22024 at his residence.

Larry was born in Pottsville on May 3, 1939, the only son of the late Theodore and Mary (Montag) Kelly. He was a 1957 graduate of the Pottsville Area High School and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Pottsville. He worked several jobs, having been last employed in the modular housing industry in Pine Grove.

Larry was an avid sports fan, both the New York Yankees baseball team and his beloved Notre Dame football team. He was a member of the Schuylkill County Notre Dame Club, where he served as a former vice president. A life member of the American Hose Company #2 in Pottsville, Larry was also a social member at both the Amvets Post 180 and the Pottsville Catholic War Veterans.

The last member of his immediate family, Larry is survived by several cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Church on Mahantango Street in Pottsville. Relatives and friends are asked to arrive at the church beginning at 10:45 am. Larry will be laid to rest along side his parents at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 20th and Mahantango Streets in Pottsville, immediately following the mass.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. john the Baptist Church in Pottsville in memory of Larry.

The Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Pottsville, is assisting Larry's family during this time of need.

Joseph P. Polega
, 49, a resident of Wapwallopen, passed away at home unexpectedly on Sunday evening, June 16, 2024.

Joe was born in Hazleton, on July 17, 1974, the son of the late Peter Polega and Carol (Foose) Garrison of Bloomsburg. He was a 1993 graduate of the Hazleton High School, and was currently employed as a mechanic for Mastertech Automotive in Berwick.

Joe was a life member of the Berwick VFW Auxillary and a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Mt. Top. He enjoyed hunting and fishing when not working.

In addition to his mother Carol, Joe is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carrie Jabs, along with their children, Amber Lynn of Catawissa, PJ of Wapwallopen and Cody of Bloomsburg.
Joe is also survived by his four dogs, who were like his best friends.

Joe will be laid to rest in the Russian Orthodox Cemetery, West Pine Street, Sheppton, following graveside services which will be held at 11 AM. Anyone wishing to attend the service is asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 AM.

Linda Sue Correll, 69, of Orwigsburg, passed away Tuesday, June 18, at home in the comfort of her family.

Linda was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina on September 12, 1954, a daughter of the late Fannie Pauline (Grissett) and Hugh B. Jones.

She was the wife of Paul F. Correll, Jr., to whom she was married for nearly 44 years.

Linda graduated from Jacksonville Senior High School and also went on to receive her cosmetology license at Empire Beauty School. Her main joy in life was taking care of her family and spending time with them at family gatherings.

In addition to her husband Paul, Linda is survived by two daughters, Heather, wife of Jeffrey Steencken and Tracy Correll as well as grandchildren Paige, Bryce, Hannah, Harper and her great granddaughter, Brinlee.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
