Roger was born, raised, and resided in Orwin his entire life. He was a 1961 graduate of the former Porter Tower High School.
After over 40 years of service as a steel worker, Roger retired at the former Bethlehem Steel.
He was a member of the St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Orwin.
Roger always looked forward to his trips to the casino where many memories were made. He enjoyed collecting all kinds of memorabilia, including various NASCAR items. He had a talent for handywork and could always be found tinkering around the house. Above all else, family was everything to him. From the famous family card parties to doing all kinds of projects with his grandchildren, Roger was at his happiest surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Millie Paul Ulsh; two sisters, Barbara Taylor, and Sandy Jones.
Surviving are his wife, Joanne E. Welsh Ulsh, to whom he would he celebrated 60 years of marriage with on June 18; three children, Lisa Klinger and her husband Terry, Florida, Roger Ulsh Jr., and his wife Jill, and Jeremy Ulsh and his wife April, both of Tower City; one sister, Carol Schaeffer and her husband Jack, Orwin; two brothers, Kerry Ulsh and his wife, Carol, Orwin, and Jeff Ulsh and his wife Kathy, Delaware; nine grandchildren; one great grandson with another on the way; numerous nieces and nephews; his beloved Doberman dogs.
Family and friends are invited to graveside services on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the St. Peter's Cemetery, Orwin, with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Lingelstown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110, who took excellent care of Roger the past few weeks.

Pamela A. Snyder, 67, of Arch Street, Locustdale, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at her residence. Born August 14, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Sara McCabe Kuropski. Pam was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church, Gordon, and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 424, Orwigsburg.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Pam’s Life, Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 6 PM, in the Simpson United Methodist Church, 117 E. Biddle St., Gordon. Officiating will be Pastor Susan Hocking.

Raymond F. Zale, 73, of Spring Township, passed away Friday, May 3, 2024, in his residence. He was the husband of Lynn (Schumack) Zale. Born in Shenandoah, PA, Mr. Zale was the son of the late Henry J. and Eleanor (Twardzik) Zale. Mr. Zale was a member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and the Air National Guard during the first Gulf War. Mr. Zale was employed by Penske in Corporate Security. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Joslyn J. Zale of Wyomissing, PA, and Lauren L. Zale, wife of Daniel Midson-Short, of Long Beach, CA. Mr. Zale is also survived by his brother Henry T. “Hank” Zale of Pottstown, PA, and was preceded in death by his brother Christian Zale.
Prayer Service will be held at the convenience of the family at Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, PA. Interment will also be held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2810 St. Alban’s Drive, Sinking Spring, PA 19608 or consider planting a tree in memory of Mr. Raymond F. Zale.

Karen L. Urban of Mechanicsville, PA went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Karen was born in Pottsville and raised in Willow Lake. She was the daughter of Francis and Grace Gaumer Schaeffer. After finishing Blue Mountain High School in 1964 she went on to nursing school and proceeded to have a 40-year career in geriatric nursing, she held positions of assistant director of nursing unit manager, staff development, and infection control. She received several Awards and recognition for going above and beyond. Karen and her husband, who was the love of her life lived in Florida for 25 years returning to PA when he became ill. She was his caretaker for 12 years and they were married for 31 years. He passed away in 2016.
In addition to her parents and husband Joseph Urban she also is proceeded in death by her brothers Delroy, Michael, Joseph, sister, Phyllis Knoll, and infant sister Anna May.
She is survived by a brother, Steven Schaeffer and his wife Joy and sister Kathleen Young and her husband Joe, and three loving children George Rohrbach, Kelly Webber, and Stacie Rohrbach, her grandchildren Leanna Fanelli and her husband Anthony, Logan Webber and his fiancé Tessa, James Mickshaw Jr., Bobby Jo, Sammy Jo, Michelle, George Jr., and Hunter Rohrbach, and 15 great grandchildren.
