Darlene M. Felty
, 61, of N. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024 at home.

Born on September 26, 1962 in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Clarence R. "Popeye" and Roma Y. D'Agostino Schaeffer.

She was a 1980 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School.

Darlene was a seamstress and had worked for H.L. Miller and Canoe Mfg.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Richard Schaeffer and Bruce Schaeffer.

Surviving are her daughter, Tiffany and husband Kenneth Herring of Pine Grove; two granddaughters, Diane Marie Herring and Autumn Felty; two step grandchildren, Faith Herring and Catherine Herring; a step daughter, Jenny Beach of Lebanon; a stepson, Michael Felty; four sisters, Barbara Daub of Lebanon, Helen and husband Claude Weikel, June and husband Andy Guidas, and Joann and husband Tim Wenrich, all of Pine Grove; two brothers, David and wife Mary Schaeffer and Franklin and wife Kathy Schaeffer, both of Pine Grove; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastor Barry Spatz officiating. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hetzel's Cemetery, Pine Grove.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to PGA Pathway, c/o Edith Daubert, 20 Beauty Mary Way, Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 in her memory.

Reba F. Strubhar
, 92, of Pine Grove, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, in Providence Place, Pine Grove.

Born on March 13, 1932, in Pine Grove, she was a daughter of the late Mahlon and Carrie Rehrer Schneck.

Reba was a 1950 graduate of Pine Grove High School and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.

She worked in the cafeteria for the Pine Grove Area School District.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 54 years, John A. Strubhar, Sr.; two brothers, Robert Schneck and Floyd Schneck; and a sister, Ruth E. Matz.

Surviving are two daughters, Lisa and husband Allen Weidman of Alexandria, VA, Susan and husband Michael Skripko of Pine Grove; two sons, John Jr. and wife Cheryl Strubhar of Newtown, Todd Strubhar and companion PJ Gathers-Sulecki of Newark, DE; 6 grandchildren, Amy and husband Brandon Schaeffer, Abby Skripko and companion Cory Rudisill, Erika and husband Ryan Rice, Stephen and wife Christine Weidman, Jenna and husband Michael Thomas, Aaron Strubhar; 8 great grandchildren, Braydon, Jaxen, Addalyn, Jordan, SJ, Lillian, Amelia, and Henry; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, with Pastor Brian Beissel officiating. There will be a visitation on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions may be made to the Mark Shollenberger Scholarship Fund, c/o Pine Grove School District, 103 School St., Pine Grove, PA 17963 in her memory.

Josephine Artz, 91, of Fearnot, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24, 2024 in Rosewood Rehab and Nursing Center.

Born on October 17, 1932 in Pine Grove, she was a daughter of the late Irwin and Alma Nagle D'Agostino.

She was a 1950 graduate of Pine Grove High School. and was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.

Josephine was a homemaker and loved to garden. She always had a beautiful yard of flowers. She and her husband liked going to wineries.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 59 years, Warren E. Artz in 2015 and a grandson, Kole Harris in 2000.

Surviving are two sons, Keith and wife Cindy Harris of Pine Grove, Kraig and wife Beth Artz of Camp Hill; a daughter, Kelley and husband Bruce Smith of Middletown, MD; four grandchildren, Jebedh Smith, Jonah Smith, Hunter Artz, and Korey Harris; three step grandchildren, Jason Strouphauer, Sarah Pillsbury, and Leah Frantz; many great grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth and wife Judith D'Agostino of Pine Grove.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. Andrew's United Methodist Cemetery, Valley View.

The H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove, is in charge of arrangements.

Jeffrey R. Schell
, 52, of Frackville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday at his residence.

Born in Pottsville, he was a son to Sheila Schell Stahl and the late George A Stahl, Sr.

He was a graduate of the Pine Grove High School, class of 1990 and the Berks Technical Institute with a degree in Graphic Design.

Jeffrey worked in production in local warehouse companies last working for Clearly Clean, Frackville and previously worked for MI Windows and Doors.

Jeffrey was a diehard Eagles Fan; he liked all sports and at one time assisted coaching youth football.

He was preceded in death by his brother, George A. Stahl, Jr., in 2017; an uncle, John R. Schell and maternal grandparents; Raymond and Verna Schell.

In addition to his mother, Jeff is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jessica Schell, Frackville; three children; Tyler J. Schell and his fiancé, Julia E. Nesbit, Beavertown; Kody R. Schell and Kylie A Schell, both at home; a grandson, Paxton T. Schell; mother-in-law June Wood and father-in-law Thomas M. Wood and wife Cynthia; cousins; Daniel Schell and Thomas Schell; and his dog and faithful companion, Remi; nieces and nephews

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation Sunday evening, June 30, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St Peters United Church of Christ Cemetery, Tremont.

Darlene M. Yerger
, 71, of Tower City, passed away early Thursday morning, June 27 2024 at her daughter's home in Dauphin surrounded by her children, following a courageous fight against cancer.

Born in Lykens, October 19, 1952, a daughter of the late Stewart and Florence Workman Schell. Darlene was a graduate of Williams Valley High School.

She was employed as a secretary in the guidance office at the Williams Valley School District for over 30 years.

Darlene was of the Methodist Faith.

Above all, her family was the center of her world. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she was extremely close to and proud of each one of them. Darlene could always be found cheering them on at school events and in life in general. She always looked forward to her annual beach trips with her family.

On September 16, 2022, Darlene lost the love of her life - her soul mate and husband of 49 years, Dennis Yerger. We take comfort in knowing they are now holding hands and will spend entirety together.

She is survived by her children, Danielle Williard and her husband Gary, Tower City, Dennis Yerger II and his wife Kelli, Lykens, and Denean Hielman, Dauphin; her beloved grandchildren, Logan and Faith Williard, Autumn and Aubrey Yerger, Austin Hielman, and Bryce and Cora Brunmeier; two sisters, Kathy Mace and her husband Raymond, Virginia, and Blanche Updegrave and her husband Bruce, Reading; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Following Darlene's wishes all services will be private and she will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Greenwood Cemetery, Tower City.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christ United Methodist Church, 400 E Grand Avenue, Tower City, PA 17980.

Diane M Lenick
, 61, of Old Phoenix Rd, Cass Twp, passed away Saturday, June 22nd, at her home.

Diane was born in Pottsville, August 8, 1962, the daughter of Barbara Ann (Monti) Musick and the late John J Musick.

She was the wife of John Lenick.

She was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel of the Holy Family Parish, Minersville.

Diane was a graduate of Minersville Area High School and the Pennsylvania State University. She was employed as a Land Surveyor at PENNDOT for 35 years.

She was a Girl Scout Leader, and a violinist with the Schuylkill Symphony Orchestra. In addition to her mother, and her husband, John, she is survived by Aunt's Joan Monti & Carolyn Fessler, Uncle Leo Yob, Mother-in-law Judy Lenick, Brother-in-law Chris Lenick, & his companion Lynne Neal, Niece Jaycee Lenick and several cousins.

A Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 9, at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville. A Funeral Service will be held at 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Llewellyn Scouting Troop Pack #600.

Patricia A. Shunski
, 78, of McAdoo, was called home to her Lord and Savior, on Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

Born in Coaldale, she was the daughter of the late Aloysius and Rose (Matsick) Koltiska.

She was a member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo.

Prior to retiring, she was employed at Consolidated Cigar Corp., McAdoo.

Patricia loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. She enjoyed caring for her flowers and watching the wildlife around her home.

Preceding her in death was her son David Shunski.

Surviving are her brother Thomas Koltiska and wife Margaret, of McAdoo; daughter-in-law, Lisa Shunski and granddaughter, Tiera; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Friday, July 5. The Rev. Barnabas Shayo will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial in Church of All Saints, McAdoo, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown.

No calling hours are scheduled.

Rose Marie Duda
, 86, formerly of Freeland, passed away Thursday evening at the Pavilion at St. Luke Village, Hazleton.

Born in McAdoo, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Rehal) Chevinsky, Sr.

Prior to retiring, she was employed in the area garment industry.

Rose Marie was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, McAdoo. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s choir, the St. Olha Society, and a caretaker of the church and altar linens for over 10 years. She was also a dedicated pyrohy maker for the parish.

Rose Marie was a judge of elections for Freeland borough for many years.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Preceding her in death, were her husband Peter Duda; son-in-law Peter Holoviak; brothers Thomas, Joseph Jr. and Robert Chevinsky.

Surviving are her daughter Paula Holoviak, of Sugarloaf; son Michael T. Duda and wife Sandra, of Lehighton; grandchildren Zoryana Duda, and Vladimir and Alexander Holoviak; and nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2024. The Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, McAdoo. Rev. Oleh Kuts will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

A calling hour will be held Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s U.C. Church, 210 W. Blaine St., McAdoo, PA 18237.
