Guy D. (Chub) Geschwindt, 81, of Port Carbon, passed away Friday, June 7th, at Seton Manor Inc., Orwigsburg.
Chub was born in Reading , PA on May 6, 1943, a son of the late Ada A (Scheirer ) Geschwindt and John L. Geschwindt .
He was the husband of Janet M. (Paul ) Geschwindt . They were married on June 7th, 1996.
He was raised in the Protestant Faith and worked as an Industrial Electrician
He was a 5 Years Apprentice electrician Local #743 Reading IBEW.
Chub was a Mason for many years. He was Past Master of Schuylkill Lodge #138, F & AM and a Forest Fire Warden for over 38 years. he was a Horseman & Trail Rider and very involved with gardening, Hunting, fishing and all outdoor Activities.
In addition to Janet, his wife of 28 years. Chub is survived by two daughters, Rebecca , wife of Steven Kuhn, Tracey Langtry, wife of Neil, a son, Gregg Geschwindt, husband of Dawn, a stepdaughter, Renee Scharadin, wife of James.
He is also survived by his brother, John Geschwindt husband of Emily, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Angela Ruffner
Services are private.
Florence A. Festa, RN, 84, of McAdoo, passed away Friday evening at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Rocco and Rose (Lombardo) Pacelli.
Florence was a devoted member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo and a McAdoo High School graduate, class of 1957.
She was a 1960 graduate of Hazleton General Hospital School of Nursing. Florence was a dedicated Registered Nurse in the maternity ward at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hazleton, for over 25 years, and later at Hazleton General Hospital and Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.
She was a member of the Hazleton General Nurses Alumni Assoc., and the McAdoo Prime Timers.
Preceding her in death was her husband James J. Festa.
Surviving are children, Lisa Kane and husband Walter, of Dover, DE; James M. Festa and wife Cynthia, of North Carolina; Sherri Haupt and husband Thomas, of Carlisle; and Martin Festa and wife Adrienne, of Sugarloaf; grandchildren, Justin and Victoria Festa, Taylor M. Haupt, 1st Lt, USAF, NC, and Celia Haupt, Lauren and James Festa, and a granddaughter expected in August; brother, Joseph Pacelli and wife Cheryl, of Tresckow; sister, Bernadette Oravitz and husband Stephen, of Center Valley; and nieces and nephews also survive.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday. Rev. Msgr. William Baker will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial in Church of All Saints, McAdoo at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, McAdoo.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the church.
