A Schuylkill County woman has been identified as the victim of a Berks County fatal crash earlier this week.
The crash occurred Wednesday, June 12th, 2024 around 1:40pm on the Benjamin Franklin Highway (Route 422) in Exeter Township.
Police say Kellyann Gemmell, 52, of Minersville, was in a sedan, stopped at a red light at the intersection with Daniel Boone Road when she was rear-ended by a tractor trailer.
Gemmell was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by the Berks County Coroner's Office. A passenger in Gemmell's vehicle was also injured and transported to the hospital.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured, and their name is being withheld due to the investigation into the crash.
Exeter Township Police are leading the investigation into the crash.
