Shenandoah Man Charged for Propane Tank Thefts in Frackville


A Shenandoah man is facing theft charges in Frackville.

According to Frackville Police, on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, they received a complaint of a theft in the 400 block of S. Broad Mtn Ave. 

A resident reported two gas propane tanks were stolen from his camper. The tanks were valued at $150.00 each. 

Additionally, on Monday, May 13th, 2024 Frackville Police received another complaint of three gas propane tanks being taken from Bova Property Maintenance, located on S. Lehigh Ave. These tanks were valued at $100.00 each. 

During the investigation, Police were able to gather video surveillance and other information leading to the identity of the suspect, Matthew Sleva, 35, of Shenandoah. 

As a result of the investigation, on June 7th, 2024, Patrolman Joseph Murton filed two criminal complaints respectively, through Judge Tarantelli’s office, for Mathew Sleva, charging him with Theft and Receiving Stolen Property.
