Ashland Fire and Police Departments Announce Return of Community Night Out


The Ashland Fire Department and Police Department announced this week return of Community Night Out.

This year's event is set to take place on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024, with a rain date scheduled for Thursday, August 8th, 2024. The festivities will be held at Ashland's Memorial Field from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

The event will feature a variety of participating community groups, showcasing the collective effort to promote safety, unity, and community spirit. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with representatives from:

  • The Ashland Fire Department
    • American Hose Company
    • Washington Fire Company
    • Washington Ambulance
    • Ashland Fire Police
  • The Ashland Police Department
  • Borough of Ashland
  • Schuylkill County Sheriff's Office
  • American Legion
  • Schuylkill County Emergency Management Mobile Command Post
  • Ashland Elks, providing free fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, and CO detectors
  • A&F Towing
  • Burkes Diesel
  • Boy Scouts
  • Girl Scouts
  • Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
  • Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church
  • American Red Cross
  • State Farm Insurance
  • Pennsylvania Canine Search and Rescue
  • Crossfire Youth Center
  • More to be announced

In addition to the community groups, the event will feature free hot dogs donated by the Ashland American Legion, hot dog buns donated by Boyers Food Markets, free pierogies donated by Mrs. T’s Pierogies.  The food will be served from the Schuylkill Technology Center Food Truck

There will also be free fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, and CO detectors provided by the Ashland Elks, exploration of fire apparatus, police cars, ambulances, emergency vehicles, borough equipment, and more.

There will be door prizes for adults and kids and music by JB Sound.

"We invite everyone in the Ashland community to join us for an evening of fun, food, and fellowship as we stand together to support a safer, stronger community," the Ashland Police and Fire Departments said in a joint statement.
