Big Diamond Speedway Results - July 19th, 2024

$7K Topless win goes to Louden Reimert, Jordan Henn tops 602 Crate Sportsman feature on Getz Motorsports Bike night.
On Dukmen’s Enterprises / Getz Motorsports bike night where 180 bikes were given out to the kids, it was Louden Reimert winning the 30 lap Quandel Concrete Modified “Topless” feature to take the big $7,000 check. Jordan Henn continued his recent hot streak in winning the $1,200 Uss Achey, Inc. 602 Crate Sportsman feature. Alex Schoffstall got himself back on track after a bad week to win the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunner and it was Chase Gular winning his second Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Crate race.

Heath Metzger and Doug Smith Jr would lead the Quandel Concrete Modified field to starter Warren Alston’s green flag with Smith powering to the lead but a spin by Dan Hineline voided the start of the race and necessitated a complete restart. Once again it was Smith leading but Metzger fought back on the inside of turn one to take the top spot. Metzger continued to lead when the yellow was out on lap four when Shawn Fitzpatrick spun and collected Jeff Strunk. Duane Howard slowed to avoid the wreck with Brett Kressley getting into the back of the No. 15G causing both to go around. All cars were able to continue except for the No. 20R of Strunk. Making some moves through the field was Louden Reimert who was up to third after starting tenth in only four laps.

The restart saw Metzger and Smith alongside each other but it was Reimert who saw an opportunity down low and made his move taking the lead before they hit turn one. Reimert immediately started to pull away but the racing behind him was hot and heavy with Logan Watt now in the top five and passing Metzger for third on lap eight. Wayne Witmer stopped between turns one and two to bring out the yellow on lap nine. On the restart, Reimert pulled out to a comfortable lead while Smith and Logan Watt battled for second with Rick Laubach also joining the mix and racing the younger Watt for third. Yellow once again slowed the race on lap 11 when Metzger went around on the backstretch. At this point, Howard and Kressley were coming hard from the rear and now back into the top ten. The restart was all Reimert with Watt and Smith racing side by side for second. The battle for second was intense with Smith on the outside and Watt on the inside as they raced hard and clean for many laps before Watt finally made the pass. With the racing at the front settled down for the moment all eyes were on Kressley who passed Howard and then Paulie Hartwig III and into fourth. Reimert was into lapped traffic with five laps to go but caught a break when Corey Renninger slowed on the backstretch to bring out the final yellow of the race on lap 26.

Modified rooking Logan Watt gave Reimert all that he could handle on the restart trying to make outside work, but Reimert was able to prevail to stay in the lead as Kressley went by Laubach for third and started to work on Watt for second. This race was all Louden Reimert who took the big $7,000 to win victory with Kressley edging out Watt for second. Logan Watt was third with Laubach and Howard in the top five.

“I was just glad we could rebound after a tough week last Friday,” said the victorious Reimert. “It was a tough racing deal last week and that kind of stunk really bad, but we plugged hard during the week and get our stuff figured out and do what we do. We never give up, that word isn’t in our vocabulary, and I have to thank all the guys that help to get all the speed we have lately. It’s different (not having tops on the car), it’s a neat thing to do once a year. It’s a change of pace and unhooks the car a little bit. I thought the track was really racy midway through the race and I am glad that they do this.”

Wes Brady and Tim Borror led the Uss Achey, Inc. 602 Crate Sportsman field to the start with Borror out front but a huge pileup on the backstretch negated the start with multiple cars involved. Borror once again was out front at the drop of the green but a collapsed front end on the Logan Starr car once again brought out the caution before a lap could be scored. Track officials made the call for the next restart to be single file with Borror out front with Brennan Chapman right behind. Jordan Henn who started back in eleventh was now making moves into the top five going by Colin Cox for fifth and not stopping there as the No. 4R was now up third. Second place Chapman tried to make a bid for the lead on Borror with both coming together in turn one forcing Chapman to bounce hard and come to a stop. The next restart saw the red flag being displayed due to a hard crash in turn one involving multiple cars, thankfully all drivers were okay. Jordan Henn wasted little time on the restart going around the outside of Borror to take over the lead. Once in front it was all Henn with Borror now having to hold the advances of Kevin Olenick and Cox. Henn drove away to win his second feature of the season with Olenick second, Cox third, Borror fourth and Jax Yohn who rebounded from a flip in his heat race to take fifth. Henn took home a nice $1,200 payday for his efforts.

Jim Kost took the lead at the start of the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunner feature. Multiple yellow flags plagued the Roadrunner feature early on but once they were able to put some laps together Kost led the way with Jesse Krasnitsky and Alex Schoffstall battling for second. Schoffstall made the pass for the runner-up on lap seven and was able to take the lead away from Kost on lap nine restart and go on to win his fourth Roadrunner feature of the season. Joe Bassininsky, Terry Kramer, Kris Ney and Andrew Fayash III completed the top five.

It was Chase Gular winning his second Big Creek Concrete Rookie 602 Crate Sportsman feature of the year after a good battle with Christopher Buffalino. McKenzi Smith and Trevor Bixler finished behind Gular.
