Charges Held for Court in Pottsville Car Dealership Theft

Charges were held for court after a preliminary hearing against a former employee for stealing from a Pottsville car dealership.

On May 31st, 2024, Mark Douglas Hall Jr., 34, of Vandalia, OH was charged by Pottsville Police Detective Joseph Krammes with felony theft by deception, receiving stolen property, theft by unlawful taking, theft by failing to make required disposition of funds, and criminal use of a communication facility and misdemeanor misapplication of entrusted property and property of government or financial institutions.

The charges stem from an alleged scheme where Hall, a former employee of Bob Weaver Chevrolet, used fake Paypal accounts to steal over $190,000 from the dealership as far back 2022.  Hall is no longer an employee and has since moved to Ohio.

Hall was arraigned on the above charges on June 26th, 2024, where Magisterial District Judge Reiley had set bail at $10,000(10%) bail which was posted.

Hall appeared for a preliminary hearing before Judge Reiley on Monday, July 15th, 2024, all charges were bound for court.
