Former Tremont Township Treasurer Charged with Stealing Over $22,000

A former Tremont Township Treasurer is facing charges for stealing over $22,000.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, Rhiannon Adams, 40, of Tremont has been charged with felony theft, receiving stolen property, theft by failure to make required disposition of funds, and forgery.

The charges stem from an investigation that Adams made fraudulent purchases totaling $22,572,63 between April 2023 and March 2024.

Troopers say Adams used a township-owned credit card to make illegitimate purchases from various businesses and wrote business account checks to herself.  She also allegedly forged the signature of two township employees on the checks.
