Frackville Man Faces Charges After Road Rage Incident in St. Clair Involving Firearm

A Frackville man has been charged following an alleged road rage incident in St. Clair on Monday.

According to St. Clair Police, on Monday, July 1st, 2024, they were dispatched to the area of Route 61 and Russell Street for road rage incident.

The witness told police that the other driver involved pulled and pointed a handgun at them.   The victim was able to provide registration, and description of the gun and driver.

Frackville Police later located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver, Joseph Conapinski, 48, of Frackville, was found to be in possession of a firearm, a silver Taurus revolver, which matched the witness' description.

Conapinski was taken into custody and charged by St. Clair Police Officer Christopher Wallace with 3 counts of felony aggravated assault, 3 counts of misdemeanor recklessly endangering another person, and 1 count of misdemeanor possession of a weapon.

Conapinski was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled before Magisterial District Judge David Plachko on July 16th, 2024.
